Hi, I'm Mike Hesse, the dude behind db0 Productions. I've been working in audio for about 20 years.

I started as a guitarist in a band in Toronto, then recorded demos to shop around for gigs. Friends in other bands asked me to record demos for them too, and everything went from there! Their musical styles included electronica, rock, punk, post-punk, country, jazz, folk, and classical.

Then I started doing live sound, first mixing friend's bands, and then joining IATSE to help set up and mix for big concerts and trade shows. I also produced and recorded soundtracks for an independent film company, and did live sound for some fashion shows.

About 10 years ago, I became curious about programming, so switched to that for a bit, but continued music as a hobby and recorded some projects for fun with musician co-workers. But I missed working in audio too much, and last year I quit programming and moved to Berlin. Since then, I do production and audio engineering full-time.

Because I'm new to Berlin, I'm basically starting over. In the past year I've joined the Starlighter label, which you can find here --
